Mr. Jones and Me

Last Friday, Mark and I tried out one of the newest restaurants along the Greenbelt 5 strip. Actually, we were trying to decide whether to go to an old favorite (Flapjacks), or try a new place. We chose the latter.

Mr. Jones is a diner style restaurant that has a lot of comfort food on the menu. But because this is Greenbelt 5, the old favorites have a high-brow twist. Like the food we ordered that night. We had Baked Macaroni with truffles - a perfectly cheesy concoction that has added texture because of the mushrooms. Our sandwich was a grilled pesto sandwich with spicy fries on the side. It was a winner!

After we got our bill, they gave us a container of lollipops as dessert. True to the restaurant's concept, the lollipops were so "back to our childhood." These lollies are the same lollies that I used to eat as a youngster.

Overall, the dining experience feels new and yet familiar - traits that make a restaurant worth coming back to. And yes, I think we'll see Mr. Jones again one of these days.
