Example, I was today years old when I found out that "Chicharon Bulaklak" has an English translation.

Somehow, it sounds more fine dining when you call it "Flowerfat."

I'm from advertising.

Thus, I should be aware that posts like this are just a ploy for thumb-stopping and engagement.

Despite that, here I am, still playing and trying to catch the photo within the outline.

Being witty is chicken

Trust Pinoys to be clever and witty when it comes to product names.

Case in point...

Everyone knows KFC is famous for chicken, so this snack aped KFC's name to sell their chicken flavoured snack.

Admittedly, that name is what attracted me to this product. 

Concrete Jungle

Was walking along the concrete pavements of 13th Avenue, and chanced upon this beauty:

It's so refreshing to see so many flowers and so much vibrant colours in least expected places. It's a nice breather from all the hustle and bustle of city life.

Wish they had more trees like this in our area.

The cat who can't be moved

Yes, this post is inspired by that hit song from "The Script."

But instead of a man who can't be moved, this post is about this.

Yes, the cat was on top of the stairs, and no once could get him to move. So, everyone had to walk around him.

The cat must've had the chorus "I'm not moving..." playing in his head the entire time.

Peace in a cup

The world is really starting to become a scary place.

Countries attacking each other. Governments taking up arms and striking at one another. Talks that these little wars might escalate to a big one.

Gosh! It's safe to say that the only thing that the people of the world want right now is peace.

And while it's hard to imagine that in the current state of global affairs, this store in Ali Mall was able to capture the sentiment in a cup.

If it were only this easy.

Crazy Commute

Maybe it was because of the sudden rains, but commuting was cray-cray yesterday.

This was the MRT chaos that greeted me in Ayala Station.

Decided not to even attempt riding the MRT and just took the bus carousel. Surprisingly, that commute was much easier and faster.

Lyli echoed this sentiment and told me that their commute home yesterday what crazy, too.

Hope this is just a glitch.

All about the Bass

No, this isn't a Meghan Trainor post.

It's about this hat that I've been seeing everyone wear these days.

Yes, it's cute and retro and all, but must EVERYONE wear it at the same time?

Those lyrics from Taylor Swift were the first words that came to mind after seeing this:

CU is a big convenience store chain in South Korea, and it's all over the place. You can walk a few blocks without seeing one.

So, it's easy to see you in CU.

Night walker

There's something very soothing and calming about walking at night. Much more so when you have this cute poodle joining you.

Kuro enjoys walking out a lot. Just like me. 

We should so this more often.

All grown up

Gsoh! Kendra is all grown up. 

And she's one of the faces of Penshoppe!

It's kind of surreal to see her this grown up. After all, we've seen her as a baby, as a toddler, as a little girl, and now this.

But one thing is consistent. Even as a kid, she's always been a stunner.

Fam-iliar

While my student was reporting, this particular slide immediately caught my eye:

It's Toni.

Yup, she's using my niece as part of her Communication Plan. And it's fun and surreal when you see your family as part of your students' project.

They're definitely her target audience.

He's the Guy

It's still one of my favourite stories from High School.

Our English teacher was talking about one of his favourite playwrights. He wrote the name on the board and confidently said that no one would be able to pronounce it. The name was:

Guy de Maupassant

Casually, I raised my hand and said:

Gee du Muppasan

Yup, I knew how to pronounce the name of this guy.

Because he didn't know that we had a small library in our Tomas Morato house. We had an encyclopedia. One of them had an article dedicated to this French author who was best known for his short stories. Became curious about him. Asked my Lola Dita about him. And she was the one who taught me how to pronounce his name.

And that's how a random interest made me sound more knowledgeable.

During my cleaning session during the Holidays, one of my discoveries was the fact that there were a lot of watches scattered around the room.

So, this weekend, I was able to go to the watch shop to get new batteries for them.

Now, I've got 6 watches to add to my rotation.

Keep off the grass

In another edition of "This is why we don't deserve nice things."

Grass and greenery are supposed to make you feel relaxed. But seriously, how can you relax if you see this:

Unfortunately, a lot of people still don't have that discipline of disposing trash properly. Gosh! How difficult is it to hold on to a bottle until you find a garbage bin?

It's disappointing how a lot of people still have this trash mentality.

These cats are the Law(son)

Couldn't help but take a snap of this cute pair of cats at Lawson along Sapphire Road.

As much as people would've wanted to sit (including myself), we couldn't get ourselves to shoo them becuase they're just SOOOO cute!

Loose End(ing)s

I've seen "Dreamgirls" a few times already, and this scene never fails to get me.

In just a few minutes, this scene has created such and impact and left so many questions unanswered. 

It seems like Curtis figured out that Magic is his daughter. The way he approached her and looked at her, then Effie, you can see that he had a realisation. This leaves the question in everyone's mind (including mine), "What will Curtis do next?"

Of course, we'll never know the answer. Which actually makes it quite fun.

Unless someone thinks of doing a sequel to the original story.

Saw this watch on-line and was automatically transported back to my childhood.

Wonder if this is something that a guy my age can still pull off.
