Big(gs) Time!

One thing that's always on my list during my Bicol trips is eating at Biggs.

That became easier now that they've opened a branch in Tabaco!

Now, that's one item ticked off my list.

View-tiful

I've been to Bicol hundreds of times, but this view still takes my breath away.

Hello again, Mayon! Glad to see you.

Catzzzzz

It might be because of the summer heat, but I'm finding more and more cats snoozing in different places.

Just like this cutie cattater at the nearby fast food place.

It's plain to see how comfy this cat is.

Makes me wonder, what could he be dreaming about.

Out(ing) and About

After 4 years, the office was finally able to go on a proper summer outing!

The last one we had was in 2019. It was an outing that I wasn’t able to attend due to a shoot. Which means it’s been 5-years since my last outing with these guys.

It was definitely worth the wait.

Black and White Summer

Yes, when the word "summer" is mentioned, the images that are usually conjured up in the mind are all bright, happy and colourful. Think tropical prints, huge flowers, neons and pastels - that kind of vibe.

No one equates "black and white" with summer. Summer = Colour. That's the rule.

Then again, rules are made to be broken.

That's why this black and white ensemble is also summer worthy.

The dress is from the latest Ines dela Fressange collab at Uniqlo. It's a flowy dress with a plaid print that is reminiscent of picnic mats. Picnic = Summer.

The sandals are from Forme. These are very strappy, easy-going, and has that seaside vibe. Seaside = Summer.

So, it's as clear as black and white.

Black and white can be summer.

Looks and tastes like summer!

From my childhood until now that I'm an oldie, I still get thrilled whenever Dunkin Donuts comes out with new flavors.

So, imagine my excitement after seeing this:

Summer-themed Dunkin Donuts Bavarian flavors!

The fact that I'm a huge fan of Halo-Halo and Maja Blanca makes this an even bigger thrill!

Oh, Dunkin Donuts! Take my money, please!

Summer vibes

According to PAGASA, the rainy season will officially begin a few weeks from now. So, technically speaking, we're on the tail end of this extremely hot summer season.

Before it officially closes, let's amp up the summer vibes with this Demi Lovato ditty from a few years back. It has a tune and vibe that captures the carefree essence of summer.

Cool.

Summer re-leaf

Remember my wrapper theme from Christmas 2016?

The leaf print inspired by D&G?

Well, the leaf print is back for summer. And it's on swimsuits in SM Department store.

What goes around comes around.

Thanks to Jun, we have awesome snaps from our outing this weekend.

Here's one of my favorites so far.

You just gotta love summer!

It's in the mix!

Summer's here! And halo-halo can't be far behind!

As one of my favorite Filipino desserts, I've tried halo-halo in its different incarnations. From homemade to restaurant prepared, all the way to the hotel versions. (The halo-halo at Peninsula Manila is top notch!)

Call me old-fashioned, but for me, the best halo-halo is still the one that's sold in the neighborhood stall. Just like this one that we discovered in Proj. 3.

Thanks to this stall, I discovered that there's such a thing as ube condensed milk. They mix it after all the ingredients are in, and I swear, it makes all the difference.

Here's to summer! And halo-halo!

Feel the (sun)burn

After the 4-ish hour road trip, we're finally back from the company outing!

What made it fun is the fact that after a long, long time, I was able to do the following again:

- Attend a summer outing (last time done: about a decade ago)
- Swim on the beach (last time done: about 4 years ago)
- Make a sand castle (last time done: more than a decade ago)
- Sleep in an old house (last time done: more than a decade ago)
- Get sunburned (last time done: about 3 years ago)

Okay, I think the last one doesn't qualify as fun. Harhar.

In and Outing

Frankly, I can't remember the last time I joined a company outing. Most of the time, I'd be out of the country when the outing would happen, and I'd skip it altogether.

I think it's been about a decade since I last joined one.

That is, until today.

After a decade, I'm in the list of people going to our company outing in Bagac, Bataan.

(Also, this is the first time I'm up at 5am just so I can be at the office for the 5:30am call time. Zzzzz...)

FMM: It's Official!

The heat outside says it.

The scorching sun says it.

And now, even Pag-Asa confirmed it.

It's summer time!

Time to make Summer travel plans! (To the tune of Mungo Jerry's classic 70s tune, of course. It's a Friday, after all.)

FMM: Hot!

After walking under the heat of the sun and feeling the heat while crossing the street, it's official.

Summer is here!

And yes, it's hot, hot, hot! (Just like this old Brazilian song.)

March into summer

PAGASA affirmed it and we felt it. Summer is indeed in the (hot) air. While walking along the overpass leading to EDSA Shrine, I could feel the heat and I could see people around me sweltering.

Amazing how early the heat arrived. Heck, I didn't even get a chance to feel the cold December air!

But hey, summer is here and there's no use fighting it. So, the best thing to do is just dress for it.

Summer is the time to break out the pastels and bright colors like aqua and coral. They'll match the bright and sunny disposition of summer.

Another nice summer staple are watercolor prints. Summer reminds me of watercolor painting projects, so this print is super appropriate for the season.

Luckily, these pastels and prints were available at Greenhills. Tops and Totes had these nice, loose pants with a ribbon belt. And one of the stalls had this loose shirt in a watercolor print.

Now my sisters are all geared up for summer.
