Happy Meal
My version, at least.
It's been years since I've last had these 2 faves of mine.
First is Hong Kong Style Noodles. I've written about this dish in this blog before. It used to be my go-to quick snack or lunch when they still had that stall in St. Francis Square. (They've closed, unfortunately.)
Next is Gong Cha's Peach & Lychee tea with coconut jelly. It's so refreshing and the interplay between the 2 fruits is just awesome!
This was definitely worth the wait, and today's meal will definitely make me happy!

Spag-Hot-ti
While rummaging through the kitchen cabinet in search of something to eat for an afternoon snack, I chanced upon this pack of Nongshim Chapagetti.
Maybe it's because of watching "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" and some other Korean movies, but there was a sudden urge to eat a bowl of Korean noodles. So, after snagging the pack and preparing it per packaging instructions, it was time for the Spicy Chapagetti.
Gosh! Spicy it was! Just a few mouthfuls and my forehead was sweaty already. But compared to that Super Spicy Buldak noodle, this was more bearable.
While this hot Korean Spaghetti was good, give me the classic Pinoy-style Spaghetti anytime!

Now you see Mee
While Mona and I were talking about how much we miss SG and the Hawker Stall food, I showed her the stash that’s tying me over:
Instant Prawn Mee that reminds me of the divine Prawn Mee we’d often have at the Golden Mile Hawker Center. And Mee Poh Dry which brings back memories of Mee Goreng at the old train station.
Hopefully soon, we can taste the legit ones in SG. But in the meantime, let me relive those Hawker adventures with these 2.

I couldn't leave HKG without...
The first order of the day was doing what I usually did when HKG was still my 2nd home. Going to Rosary Church to hear mass. And even if it's been 8 years since I left HKG, the church still feels familiar, and the people, too.
Then, it was off to Landale Street for another must-do.
Eat a bowl of Penang Prawn Noodles! No matter how long or short my HKG trip is, I'll never leave without enjoying this bowl. It's as good now as it is then.
Two of the musts completed! Until the next time, HKG!

Oodles of noodles
Among the dishes we ate during that HKG trip, this noodle dish from MX is the best for me.
It was oozing with chicken and veggies, and the noodles were firm yet tender. Well played and well cooked, MX.
As always, MX never disappoints.

No words needed, part 3: The Nuclear edition
Judging by the color and the evil stare of the chili peppers, you knew this would be bad news. But curiosity and a sense of adventure got the better of us, so we tried it.
And yes, it's as spicy bad as it looks.
