Last Monday, Kavin and Yrish had their 1st born, Baby Saab! And today, we got to meet her in person.

She's now the 4th baby to join the 4th generation.

My nephew Carl is a new Dad! Which means I am - for the 3rd time - a Granduncle!

Welcome Adriana! Yup, like the Supermodel!

Actually, her full name is Adriana Solenn. So, they’re 2 fashion model names, actually.

Congratulations Carl and Jamie!

It's customary for Pinoys to teach foreigners Tagalog. And, more often than not, the first things they teach them are funny phrases.

Just like in the case of my grandnephew, Noah.

This is one of the Tagalog phrases that he can say:

Of course, he pronounces it as: "Puugeee ahkow."

Well, just one look at him and you have to agree. He's a "pogi" boy indeed!

Can't argue with that.

And incidentally, today is the birthday of his Dad, my eldest nephew - Jul!

The Fabulous Baker Boy - I mean, Baby

Baking runs in the family.

As kids, we'd watch our Mom work her baking wonders in the kitchen. She'd make chocolate cake from scratch. She'd also make chicken and pork empanada. And of course, one of our all-time favourites - her apple pie.

Growing up, Ate Lissa would also bake, too. She has this signature baked goody - Macaroons! I still remember how we'd go to the grocery to buy desiccated coconut, and she'd whip out those yummy macaroons in batches.

Then, I got into baking, too. Thanks to Mom's old Nora Daza cookbook, and followed by the Maya Kitchen cookbook that I bought with my savings, I started dabbling in it, too. I remember making my first apple pie, my first caramel tarts, my first cake, and my first batch of chocolate chip cookies, too.

While he was in school, our Javi-Davi-Doo got into baking, too. His recipe for S'mores Cookies is still posted on our refrigerator. And I'm going to try and bake that sometime soon.

Now, there's a new baker in our next generation. Our baker baby - Baby Noah!

Ate Lissa posted this shot of him as he was helping make a birthday cake for Javier. And judging by how he's handling those baking tools and that cupcake paper, it looks like he's going to be a great baker, too.

Start them while they're young, that's what I always say.

Lolo x 2

As March begins, I realized that I haven’t written about the fact that I became a Lolo again this February!

Jul and Jen welcomed their second child - a beautiful baby girl! And now, another baby will be calling me “Lolo.’

Simply Jesse

Today was an extra special day because we had an extra adorable and extra special guest.

Baby Jesse!

Baby Jesse is Mark's nephew and he dropped by Dexter's with his parents after getting his vaccination. Aside from being super duper adorable, he's a very nice baby. He didn't complain when I carried him, neither when Ate Bullet carried him as well. He was smiling a lot, and he'd laugh when you made googly sounds.

All that adorableness at less than 5 months old!

This visit really made my Sunday.

Finally, we were able to see the 5th member of D' Kids! Presenting Baby Noah - Alfie and Bon's baby boy.

The other Oscars

Before I watch tonight's Oscars, I'd like to talk about another Oscar.

Oscar Maxwell, that is.

Last Saturday, Chrissie and David's baby boy was welcomed to the Christian world. They asked me to design both the invitation and the cake, and I was inspired by Oscar the Grouch when I did.

And voila!

I like the coolness of the colors and how the entire invite felt so relaxed. Chrissie's sister, Cynthia, told me how much she liked it, too.

Sunday celebrations

This Sunday was relatively quiet, especially compared to the past 2 Sundays when two of my friends' babies celebrated their 1st year.

Two Sundays ago, it was Rafa's first birthday. And we celebrated it in superhero fashion.

Last Sunday, it was an artsy celebration as we welcomed Alex's first year with a creativity-themed party.

It's a good thing that today is going to be a quiet Sunday. Next week is going to be another hectic one for sure.
