Fitch Perfect?

I'm not sure if this is a case of "Johnny Come Lately" or "It's about time," but this once-iconic American fast fashion brand has finally opened its first store in the Philippines.

Yup, Abercrombie & Fitch.

This famous and infamous brand is known for their shirtless sales staff, dark store interiors, and love for unabashedly perfect models. Whenever I'd visit their stores in the US, and even in TYO, and once in SG, it was a bit of a daunting experience especially when their chiseled and near perfect staff would meet you at the door.

But I'd always find myself inside their store since I'm a huge fan of their jeans and polos. This blog is witness to that truth.

The SM MOA store doesn't look like the usual A&F store I'm used to. It looks bright and inviting, very different from the set-up I'm used to. Then again, these are just pictures. It would be interesting to go there personally and see how much the brand has evolved.

So, is their timing too late? Or is it perfect?

We shall see.

Smaug alert!

Yesterday, Mark and I went to the IMAX theater in MOA for 2 purposes. First, to watch "The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug," and second, to escape the dreadful films of MMFF. And yes, we were able to do both.

As expected, the second installment of The Hobbit was a very long movie. A very long, and very nice movie.

Much better than the wastebin that is the MMFF.

Gar - see ya!

First, Sarah Jessica Parker inaugurated SM Aura.

Now, this!

Yes, Nina Garcia (or as Heidi would say it, Nina Gah-thee-yah,) is coming to Manila to share her style secrets. It would be nice to see her in person, but I'm not trekking all the way to MOA for that. I'm sure they'll have the interview on youtube anyway.

Manila is really becoming a style destination these days.

It's On!

Here's concrete proof that Cotton On is indeed opening in Manila. I can almost hear my former Journalism students shriek in delight. After all, during our Investigative Journalism trip to HKG, I think we spent the most time in Cotton On.

Judging by the small space they're given - and the off the radar location in the mall - it's clear that the franchise isn't owned by SM. So, the reports that it's owned by Bench might be true.

We're really on our way to becoming a fast fashion hub in Asia!
