Diana would be proud

Look Ms. Ross, I've found "The Boss."

And that's today's cat cuteness post.

Wicked Performance

Literally and figuratively.

This medley of songs from "Wizard of Oz" and "Wicked" brought back so many feels.

"Home," originally sung by Diana Ross is one of my faves and most replayed songs.  "Unlimited" is one of the anchor songs of the musical, and was beautifully done here.

If they also sang "For Good," this would have been out-of-this-world!

Hudson High

Because of yesterday's post on "Dreamgirls," I suddenly wondered what Jennifer Hudson is doing now.

Aside from "The Voice" which she judges, and her upcoming "Aretha" biopic, what else could she be doing.

Turns out, she's been busy with a lot of things, including this:

Whoa! JHud's rendition of one of my favourite songs from Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, and later on, Diana Ross.

It's true that there ain't no mountain enough for this powerful voice.

FMM: FFF

As mentioned in one of our D' Frendz conversations, three of the things that I've appreciated in 2020 are the 3 Fs - Faith, Family and Friends.

So, it's going to be a triple treat this Friday Magic Madness. A triple treat in honour of the triple Fs.

Family:

Faith:

Friends:

And just as I always look forward to Friday Magic Madness, I'm looking forward to more of these 3 in the coming year!

FMM: The morning comes

In a few minutes, it'll be morning. And we're still at the shoot.

So, what better Friday Magic Madness song to play than an homage to the morning. This one is from Diana Ross, from the 70s.

See you in a few, Morning!

FMM: Ross' Wizardry

The old song "Home" has been sung by so many artists in so many ways.

But in my personal opinion, Diana Ross still sung it best.

Her rendition for "The Wiz" is so raw and heartfelt that your eyes can't help but moisten while listening to it.

Such is her wizardry.

FMM: On the upside

Someone has been playing Diana Ross in our department for the past few days. While the classics and favorites are there - including "The Boss" and "Theme from Mahogany," there were other ditties that I like but haven't heard in a while.

It was great to be reacquainted with her other songs, particularly this one:

"Upside Down" is a song that had massive airplay in the 80s. But it got lost in the din of other Diana Ross hits. Now that it's Friday, it's a good time to play it again.

That's the upside of Friday Magic Madness.

FMM: Like a boss!

Diana Ross' classic disco ditty, entitled "The Boss," brings back a lot of happy memories for me. Well, a lot of swing songs do that. It's in the nature of the melody and the song itself.

And since Friday is a time for old songs and happy memories, here comes the boss!
