Yes way, Jose!

While hearing on-line mass at Santuario de San Antonio last week, I noticed someone familiar behind the lectern. 

Yes! The Lector during that mass was no other than Jose Mari Chan!

I've been fortunate enough to work with him a few times, and he's really a super cool, funny, down-to-earth guy. And of course, his singing voice is the stuff of legends! 

During our last shoot, it was my birthday and he sang for me! That definitely made my day.

Hopefully, we'll get to work with him again soon.

Christmas Collab

The 1st of September - for the Philippines - is the 1st day of the Christmas Season.

And yes, the net is replete with Jose Mari Chan memes today.

Actually, we added to that plethora of memes since we did one for a client.

But among the many memes, this one caught my eye. It's a meme that you don't just read, but you sing in your head.

I've shared this with a few friends and they all had that same "singing it in my head" reaction.

Now this is a collab that should be recorded. Stat!

FMM: Finally got a Chans

Today's Friday Magic Madness song is inspired by last week's Friday Magic Madness experience!

Last week - on my birthday, no less - I got to work with Father Christmas himself, Mr. Jose Mari Chan!

We had a shoot which was so fun because of Jose Mari's effervescent personality and wonderful stories. It was like listening to your favourite Tito with his repertoire of jokes and Tito-stories, in a good way, of course.

And of course, the shoot wouldn't be complete without him regaling us with a song! Which he did. A few of them, in fact.

Which leads me to today's song, by Jose Mari Chan, of course!

While he has a lot of songs that are on my constant and repeat playlist, "Constant Change" is one of the ones on the top of the list.

Meeting the man who sang this song is one of the reasons why this is the best job ever.

Today is the first of September. And we all know what that means:

Now, more than ever, it's Christmas in our hearts.

The radio stations are going to do it anyway, so why not join in?


Like the rest of the country, we at the office were all anticipating the airing of the first Christmas carol of the season.

Will it be Band Aid? Or The Gunter Kallman Choir? Or will it be heralded by the king of all things Christmas, Jose Mari Chan?



My bet is on Jomari. His songs are the ultimate feel good Holiday songs. And the fact that he sang this with is daughter makes it even cooler.

FMM: Chan's encounter

Whenever the holiday season comes along, one iconic personality pops in my head.

No, it isn't Santa Claus.

It's Jose Mari Chan!

He always comes up with the nicest, happiest and most heartwarming Christmas songs. One of the most sung holiday tunes is "Christmas in our Hearts," which was composed by Jose Mari Chan. And no holiday will ever pass without someone radio stations playing his songs.

My personal favorite? Perfect Christmas, of course.

It's less than 2 weeks before Christmas, and looking at how the holidays are shaping up, it looks like it's going to be a perfect Christmas indeed.
