Talk about automation taken to a new level.

Now, there's even a robot barista!

Found this kiosk at SM Megamall, and saw people ordering out of curiosity.

Can a robot make coffee as good as a person can? We have to try it out first, though.

FMM: Make mine Mekanda

After seeing all those vintage robot toys in Akihabara, theme songs of robot shouts suddenly poured in my mind.

Watching Japanese robot shows was a constant during my childhood days. I;d usually watch it with Biboy, and we each had our faves. His was Daimos, mine was Voltes V. His was Mazinger Z, mine was Mekanda robot.

Until now, the theme song of Mekanda robot is fresh in my mind. Sometimes, I’d find myself singing: “Mekanda one, Mekanda two, Mekanda threeeee!”

Okay, let’s make it our Friday Magic Madness song for today.

They don’t make anime and anime songs like these anymore. Which makes me happier that this was part of my childhood.

When your childhood comes to life

That’s exactly how it feels when Voltes V is finally a live action series.

Yes! Bolted V Legacy is finally on air after so much waiting and anticipation!

This brings me back to being 5 years old. And this is def worth the wait!

Virtually clean

Of late, I noticed that SG is trying to make their airports more automated.

In T4, they've replace immigration officers with automated immigration gates. Even during boarding, they've removed the staff and replaced them with machines.

Now, they've taken it to another level! Gone are the people cleaning the airports, and in place, they have these:

Now that's what I call a line-up

After seeing this photo on the net, I was immediately transported back to when I was 4 years old and was so much into robots. From cartoons, to toys, to shirts - I collected them all.

It also reminded me of the time when my parents bought me my first Daimos toy, which I wore out quickly after playing with it everyday, for days! Good thing that toys back then were made of die cast metal, so it stood the test of time. (And the test of a kid who liked to throw robots around.)

Too bad that kids these days aren't as much into robots as we were back then. I'd love to see my nephews have a line-up of robots like these.
