LFLTAT: Classics with a twist

Some fashion purists say that you shouldn't mess with classics. Especially tried and tested classics like the white shirt dress.

I disagree, though.

Just check out this cool, cotton shirt dress that I found at SM Department Store this week.

It has that classic fabric and silhouette, but notice how that waist has that twist of extra gathering that turns into a bow. Clever!

This type of dress works best with a classic wedge. But it can also have nice twists like a braided front. Yes, braided. It's literally a twist! After all, Christian Siriano is known for that.

Here's the great thing about this ensemble. Both pieces were actually on sale! There was a sale both at SM and Payless, so this classic outfit only rang up to P995! That P5 difference automatically qualifies this as a "Look for less than a thousand!"

A Lela Rose by any other name

It was sometime last year when I first caught sight of these mustard pumps from the Lela Rose for Payless collection. 

This pair has so much going for it. The color is bold yet classic. The design is funky yet versatile. And the details - like the heel - add much needed oomph to the design.

When I dropped by Payless Ali Mall on my way home, I saw this pair again, and now it's on sale! It's around 70% off!

To buy or not to buy, that is the question.

Into the wild

Some people would like to unleash their wild side, but aren't willing to go all out and push the boundaries. So, while some people are brazen enough to incorporate animal prints into their wardrobe, some are still to shy and would want to be "subtly wild."

The solution for these types of "subtly wild" folks? Use their feet to get wild!

One way to do it is with these funky flats from Parisian at The SM store.

The colors and shapes are classic, but it has a wild side! In particular, it has metal cheetah emblems in front.

Or, if you want to get a bit more wilder than that, these shoes from Payless will definitely do the trick.

These Christian Siriano Gold shoes are made of rose colored faux snakeskin, and have an interesting shape. It's sure to pop out when worn with a simple black sheath, or with jeans and a shirt.

With shoes like these, you can be wild, without being too wild at all.
