French Twist

Nope, this post isn’t about a hairstyle.

It’s about how you can put a twist on fashion trends.

The striped top and navy pants combo is a staple in French fashion. It’s the quintessential uniform of the chic Parisian woman.

But you can “lift” the look with the right pieces, like so:

The top is the classic striped top that French women love. But instead of a bateau neckline and 3/4 sleeves, this has a crew neck with a drop shoulder silhouette. This cool shirt is from Monki.

For the pants, instead of the usual relaxed trouser style, this is a cargo pant with multiple pockets, it’s a fab find from Forever 21. (That’s an alliteration with lots of Fs!)

So, if you ask whether something a chic as French fashion can still be made even more fashionable?

Oui agree!

FMM: French leave

Since I'm on a Kylie Minogue roll, let me mark today's Friday Magic Madness with another classic Kylie from the 80s.

The first time I heard the word "Je ne sais quoi" was from Lola Dita. Later I found out that it loosely meant "something extra." But the phrase "Je ne sais quoi porquoui" means "I don't know why."

Amazing how one word in French can change the total meaning of a phrase. And while I don't know how one word could change the meaning so much, I do know that I enjoy listening to this song again and again and again.

The French are coming!

Look at what I found at Mini Stop!

They have French Toast! Classy! I'm a huge fan of French Toast, so this is a huge thing for me. At first, I was kinda hesitant to buy it. Then again, it was just P27, so I thought, even if it turned out to be a bomb, that's okay.

Luckily, it wasn't a bomb. In fact, it was quite good! The toast was very thick, and it had a nice, golden brown color. The maple syrup was included in the pack, which is plus.

The downside is, since it's so thick, the milky flavor doesn't reach all the way to the middle. You can only taste it on the top and bottom sides, and the rest of the toast is bland.

Despite that, I'll be coming back to Mini Stop for this.
