This Friday, we'll go back farther than usual. All the way to the 60s, in fact.
Among the hundreds of cassette tapes that Dad collected, there was one that piqued my curiosity. It was mainly because it was the first time I've seen or read about that singer. And while her songs were mostly meh, her voice was very soothing.
Also, there was one song in that tape that got stuck in my mind after hearing it. Mind you, this was about 30 years ago, but the song still plays in my head occasionally.
The artist was Michelle Lee, and the song was "L. David Sloane."
Fun fact, Michelle Lee wasn't only a singer, she was an accomplished, multi-awarded actress. She's best known for her role as Karen Mackenzie in "Knots Landing." It was a hit series in the 80s and Mom would watch this series religiously.
So technically, Michelle Lee deserves this Friday Magic Madness feature twice over.
